Jul 06,  · referencing In The 30's - In The 40's, LP, Comp, LJ When I was about 14 and just discovering Jazz Music I bought an Al Hurt LP, among other records. Then I found this Louis Armstrong LP- The 30’s and 40’s which had some of the same tunes. Armstrong plays with true artistry and Hurt an amateur like Lawrence Welk attempting to play jazz/5(24).

It was during the s that most Americans became familiar with Louis Armstrong through television. Along these lines, the chapter kicks off with a fun Bing Crosby collaboration. 'St. Louis Blues' is a blast since it's played by an all-star group featuring Jack Teagarden, Gerry Mulligan, Gene Krupa and Lionel flemdocthirdrarotsi.phoparlabestlacorebyzowebteva.cos: 1.

Nat Gonella was Britain’s Louis Armstrong, a hot trumpet man who fell for Louis’s style when the great man first came to England in and stayed faithful to it throughout a long career. He named his small swing band the Georgians to commemorate his success with Georgia On My Mind, the Hoagy Carmichael song.
